Leading civil engineering, groundworks and plant hire company, Devine Group has taken a bold move as part of their growth ambitions over the next period by investing over one million pound in a new fleet of plant equipment.
The Group, who is celebrating fifty years in business this year, has taken this strategic move to strengthen its operational capabilities and to ensure their clients are benefitting from the most modern and sustainable plant equipment the market has to offer.
Devine Group expands fleet and invests over £1 million in equipment enhancements
The expansion includes the addition of several new excavators to the fleet. Among these are three 9-ton Takeuchi TB290- 2 excavators, two of which feature two-piece booms, a first for Devine Group.
This innovative feature allows for deeper digging, extended reach, and efficient high-lorry loading. The fleet also now includes three 5-ton Takeuchi TB250- 2 excavators, and for the first time, two 8.5-ton Kubota KX085-5 machines. Additionally, the company has added two 13-ton Hitachi ZX13OLCN-7 excavators, bringing the total number of these powerful machines in their fleet to 18, and one 21-ton Hitachi ZX210-7 to handle larger projects.
The expansion has also involved Devine Group enhancing their dumper fleet, with 9-ton JCB- 3 cabbed dumpers. These are the first cabbed dumpers to be included in the company’s fleet, offering enhanced comfort and safety features such as suspension seats, air conditioning, a radio, safety grills at the front, and automatic regeneration systems. These improvements ensure a more comfortable and safer driving experience for operators.
To support its expanding operations, Devine Group has also added 13 new vans, increasing the total number of vehicles in their fleet to just over 100. This ensures efficient transportation and logistics support across all project sites.
Furthermore, Devine Group is investing in advanced technology to future-proof its operations. Currently, 25% of their large machines are equipped with Leica Geosystem technology, a comprehensive machine control solution that includes software, hardware, and cloud services. This system is designed to enhance efficiency, productivity and sustainability in construction operations.
Chris Dixon, Fleet & Plant Operations Manager at Devine Group, commented on the investment: "As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, this significant investment in our fleet and technology demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients. By modernising our equipment and integrating advanced technology, we are not only enhancing our operational capabilities but also reinforcing our position as a trusted partner for the UK's leading house builders."
As Devine Group celebrates its 50th year, these substantial investments highlight their dedication to maintaining a modern, efficient and competitive fleet.
